Okada Manila (Staycation Approved)
We selected this resort for the one feature no other Manila hotel can claim: The...
Nüwa Manila occupies its own tower within City of Dreams, the integrated resort that rises along Roxas Boulevard in Parañaque's Entertainment City, a short drive from the airport and the edge of Manila Bay. Behind the gold-toned lobby and the custom wallpaper that Forbes Travel Guide singled out when awarding the property its five-star rating sits a comparatively compact 70-room house, deliberately smaller in scale than the casino floor and entertainment complex below might suggest. The hotel keeps its own identity inside the wider resort: a private pool deck, a dedicated spa, and a check-in sequence that happens away from the gaming tables, even as Nobu Restaurant, Wolfgang's Steakhouse & Grill and the resort's DreamPlay family wing sit only a short walk away for whoever wants them.
We chose Nüwa for the scale of service a Forbes five-star integrated resort can field that a stand-alone boutique rarely can: round-the-clock dining choices spanning a Nobu outpost to a Cantonese dining room, a spa built to full resort standard, and a concierge and security operation sized for a casino complex rather than a twenty-room guesthouse. The Forbes Travel Guide five-star rating, held alongside sister properties Nobu Hotel Manila and Hyatt Regency Manila under the same City of Dreams roof, is the clearest outside confirmation that the polish extends well past the lobby and into the detail of the rooms themselves.
Entertainment City sits on reclaimed land along Manila Bay in Parañaque, around fifteen minutes by car from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and close enough to the SM Mall of Asia strip for an afternoon away from the resort. It is not Intramuros's colonial streets or Makati's business towers, and that is the trade being made here: easy airport access and a self-contained entertainment district, set against a taxi ride into Manila's older, denser neighbourhoods. For a short stopover, a casino weekend, or a stay built around City of Dreams itself, the distance works in the hotel's favour rather than against it.

The 70 rooms and suites favour a controlled, gold-and-dark palette over the exuberance of the public spaces downstairs, with the custom wallpaper and finishing details that earned the property its own line in Forbes Travel Guide's assessment. Rooms are sized for comfort rather than square-footage bragging rights, and the smaller room count relative to the resort's overall size means service stays personal: housekeeping, butler-style requests and restaurant reservations route through the hotel's own desk rather than a shared resort switchboard. It suits a stay built around resting well between casino floors, spa visits and long dinners, rather than one spent mostly in the room itself.
Guests rarely need to leave the complex. Nobu Restaurant and Nobu Lounge sit within walking distance for Japanese-Peruvian cooking, Wolfgang's Steakhouse & Grill and Crystal Dragon cover the steak-and-Cantonese end of the table, and Season88 and Breezes fill in the contemporary and casual registers for a quicker meal. Nüwa Spa runs its own treatment menu, kept distinct from Nobu Spa next door, and the resort's DreamPlay wing gives families somewhere to spend an afternoon while the adults book a massage or a round at the casino. It is this density of options inside a single address, rather than any one standout feature, that sets Nüwa apart from a standard city hotel of the same room count.
